Strong demand for AI servers has driven Taiwan's major IT companies' revenue to surge by 40% in February, the largest increase in four years, and monthly revenue has been above NT$1 trillion for 12 consecutive months.

The Nikkei reported on the 11th that Taiwan's major IT manufacturers, which supply a large number of products and semiconductors to customers such as Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia, saw a surge in revenue, the largest increase in four years, mainly due to strong demand for AI servers. In February 2025, the total revenue of 19 major Taiwanese IT manufacturers included in the "Asia300" including TSMC and Foxconn was NT$1.377 trillion, a surge of 43.7% from the same month last year, showing growth for 12 consecutive months. The monthly revenue scale has been above NT$1 trillion for 12 consecutive months, and the growth rate has reached double digits (more than 10%) for three consecutive months, marking the largest increase since the 46.4% surge in February 2021.

This year's Lunar New Year holiday started earlier in late January, and most companies had more working days in February. In addition, the trend of early production/shipping in response to Trump's tariffs continued. Hon Hai, the world's largest EMS (electronics foundry), saw its revenue surge 56.4% in February, mainly due to the performance supported by servers it manufactured for Nvidia and other manufacturers. Quanta Computer's revenue also surged 78.6% in February. As for other EMS manufacturers, Pegatron, which mainly produces Apple iPhones, saw its revenue surge 24.4% in February, while Compal, which mainly manufactures notebook computers, saw its revenue surge 17.4%.

Due to strong demand for advanced chips from Nvidia and Apple, TSMC, the leading wafer foundry, saw its revenue surge 43.1% in February; UMC's revenue grew 4.3% in February, and MediaTek's revenue soared 20.0%. In the LCD panel sector where the market is showing signs of recovery, AUO's revenue in February increased by 24.1% and Innolux's revenue also increased by 33.4%.

In addition to handling the majority of Apple's iPhone production, Taiwanese companies also control more than 60% of the global wafer foundry market share, and handle the production of nearly 90% of servers, more than 80% of PCs, and 80% of game consoles. They supply a large number of products to large global companies such as the United States, China, and Japan. Therefore, their monthly revenue trends are likely to predict the economic trends in the approximately three months from factory shipments to the actual listing of goods. Nikkei Shimbun has been compiling and investigating revenue data of major Taiwan IT companies since January 2013.
