The strong demand for AI servers and semiconductors, coupled with concerns about Trump's tariffs and customers shipping in advance, has driven Taiwan's major IT factories to continue to see a sharp increase in revenue in April, with monthly revenue exceeding NT$1 trillion for 14 consecutive months, setting the fourth highest record in history.

Nikkei reported on the 14th that Taiwan's major IT factories, which supply a large number of products and semiconductors to customers such as Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia, continued to see a sharp increase in revenue, mainly due to the strong demand for AI servers and semiconductors, coupled with concerns about Trump's tariff policy and customers shipping in advance. In April 2025, the total revenue of 19 major IT factories in Taiwan, including TSMC and Foxconn, which are included in the "Asia300" component stocks, was 1.6058 trillion yuan, a sharp increase of 26.8% over the same month last year, showing growth for the 14th consecutive month, and the increase rate reached double digits (more than 10%) for the fifth consecutive month. The monthly revenue scale has been above 1 trillion yuan for the 14th consecutive month, setting the fourth highest record in a single month since statistics began in January 2013.

The report pointed out that among the 19 major IT factories, 14 saw an increase in revenue and 5 saw a decrease. Among EMS factories (electronics foundries), AI server giant Foxconn's revenue in April increased by 25.5%, Quanta's revenue increased by 58.2%, Pegatron, which has a lower proportion of server production, "only grew" by 14.7%, and Compal, which mainly manufactures notebook computers, saw a sharp decrease in revenue by 19.4% in April.

Due to the continued strong demand for advanced AI chips from Nvidia, the wafer foundry leader TSMC's revenue in April surged 48.1%; UMC's revenue in April grew 3.6%, and MediaTek grew 16%.

In addition to taking over most of Apple's iPhone production, Taiwanese companies also control more than 60% of the global wafer foundry market share, and take over nearly 90% of the production of servers, more than 80% of PCs, and 80% of game consoles. They supply a large number of products to large global companies such as the United States, China, and Japan. Therefore, their monthly revenue trends are expected to predict the economic trends in the next three months from factory shipments to the actual listing of products. Nikkei has been compiling and investigating the revenue data of major IT factories in Taiwan since January 2013.
