AI drives demand for silicon photonics; Tower Semiconductor's stock surges 14% in Q2

Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli foundry, released its latest financial report on August 4th. Second-quarter results beat expectations, driven by AI-driven demand for silicon photonics technology. The company also released an excellent third-quarter forecast, sending its stock price soaring 14% that day.
According to Tower Semiconductor's financial report, revenue for the second quarter of 2025 (ending June 30, 2025) increased 6% year-over-year to $372.1 million, beating Wall Street's expectations of $371.6 million. Excluding one-time gains and losses, adjusted earnings per share were $0.50, also exceeding Wall Street's expectations of $0.43.
Looking ahead to the third quarter, Tower Semiconductor forecasts revenue of $395 million, plus or minus 5%, slightly exceeding Wall Street's forecast of $392.5 million. This is primarily due to optimism about the continued expansion of demand for data centers and AI, which will in turn boost demand for RF component shipments, which is expected to contribute to operational growth.
Tower Semiconductor, headquartered in Israel, specializes in manufacturing semiconductor products for clients in consumer electronics, PCs, communications, automotive, industrial, and medical devices.
On August 4, Tower Semiconductor's ADR stock price surged 14.13% to close at $50.98, marking a slight decline of 1.03% year-to-date.
