According to a preliminary report by Gartner, global semiconductor revenue reached $793 billion in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 21%, primarily driven by demand for artificial intelligence (AI). The report indicates that AI semiconductors, including processors, high-bandwidth memory, and network components, continue to drive unprecedented growth in the semiconductor market, with related product sales approaching one-third of the overall market.
NVIDIA (NVDA) has performed particularly well in this growth wave. In 2025, NVIDIA's global semiconductor revenue reached $125.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 64%, successfully surpassing the $100 billion annual revenue mark. Its Blackwell architecture was fully sold out by mid-2026, integrating Spectrum-X Ethernet and NVLink 5.0 technologies to create large-scale GPU clusters for AI "factories."
Furthermore, Asian semiconductor giants also hold a key position in the global market. Samsung ranks second with $72.5 billion in revenue, while SK Hynix ranks third with $61 billion, demonstrating Asia's indispensable role in AI chip production, especially given the dramatic changes in the global supply chain landscape.
Gartner's analysis further emphasizes that AI infrastructure is evolving from a niche application to the core of the semiconductor market, with related global spending projected to exceed $1.3 trillion by 2026. This shift reflects the long-term trend of accelerated computing, seemingly rebuilding the global digital infrastructure at an unprecedented pace. Hyperdata centers and national players vying for AI production capacity are the protagonists of this investment wave.
In terms of investment, Asian technology companies, including printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturers supporting high-bandwidth memory, outperform global benchmarks in 2025, further solidifying the region's position as a long-term AI investment hub. NVIDIA's market capitalization has also approached $4.5 trillion, establishing its position as a leader in full-stack AI infrastructure.
