SEMI: The semiconductor silicon wafer market is recovering, with second-quarter shipments reaching a two-year high.

Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) statistics show that semiconductor silicon wafer shipment area reached 3.327 billion square inches in the second quarter, a two-year high. SEMI stated that the semiconductor silicon wafer market is gradually recovering.

SEMI pointed out that semiconductor silicon wafer shipment area reached 3.327 billion square inches in the second quarter, an increase of 14.9% from the first quarter and 9.6% from the same period last year, the highest level since the third quarter of 2023.

SEMI stated that demand for silicon wafers for artificial intelligence data center chips such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) remains strong. Fab capacity utilization for other components is generally low, but inventory levels are returning to normal.

SEMI pointed out that semiconductor silicon wafer shipments show a positive trend, but future geopolitical and supply chain dynamics remain uncertain.
